The ZilberHaar Regular Beard Brush is made by master craftsmen from a solid piece of pear wood. The bristles are second cut boar bristles making an effective and high quality beard brush while being softer on the skin.
When we worked with the brush makers to craft the ZilberHaar brush we wanted something that was not just effective as a brush. We wanted to build a product that was so good one could feel the quality as soon as one picked it up. The ZilberHaar beard brush is that, made of all natural products we believe this is one of the finest objects for beard care you'll own. _
The tufting of a great beard brush is designed to be at a slight angle. A cheap brush has all the bristles at a straight 90 degree angle.
Varying the angles permits a the bristles to exfoliate the skin and go deeper beneath the beard.
By oiling a beard brush one reduces static produced when brushing your beard. When the wood is oiled one can't hide any imperfections. So quality beard brushes are made from good wood and craftsmanship.
To improve the beard brushes ability to exfoliate the bristles need to be slightly uneven. "Flat top" beard brushes just press the hair down. Good beard brushes are made to reach the epidermis and promote better beard growth.
A good beard brush doesn't cut corners. The bristles are tufted all the way to the edge of the wood. One can easily spot a cheap beard brush by the large gap between the edge of the wood and the tufted boar bristles.
As your beard grows the skin below your beard produces oils to keep your skin hydrated. This promotes better growth of the beard. But the skin also replaces itself and needs some help to get rid dead or dry skin. Brushing your beard daily isn't just about making it look nice, it is essential to exfoliate your skin beneath the beard.
Pearwood arrives from sustainable forests and is allowed to dry. To make a good beard brush this can take up to eight weeks. The key is to achieve the right humidity level inside the wood.
Boar bristles are checked to ensure ensure quality. They need to have the right length and the right stiffness. Soft bristles are separated as needed. The bundles are then trimmed to size.
The pearwood handles that have been carved, hand sanded and verified are then oiled and laser etched. Once ready they are sent through the tufting machine. Final controls are then done by hand.
